Always Be Ready

How was your Christmas??

Did you open a lot of presents?

Did you enjoy time with family?

Were you present in every moment?

That is great!! Now that Christmas has passed, it’s always good to reflect on the time you spent with your family and friends. In those precious moments creating lasting memories, it’s also a time to plant and water the seeds of truth in those we love.

Did you speak of the birth of your Savior?

Did you praise your newborn King?

Were you present at His feet in awe and wonder outwardly demonstrating your love to others?

1 Peter 3:15 reminds us….

Always be ready to give the reason for the hope you have to anyone who asks for it.

Standing ready to share your hope sometimes means preparing our hearts a little each day. When I was a new believer, I felt overwhelmed by all these people who could spout off scriptures and knew their God better than I knew myself. That was intimidating and sometimes a little daunting. But, I have learned God doesn’t want me to measure myself against others.

And that’s not what this scripture means. This verse encourages us to stand right where we are...with Him...

As a believer.

As a follower.

And, when asked, be ready to speak the only truth you know. What is already on the inside; no matter how you measure as small or large. Just whatever you know to be true in that moment.

Be bold in sharing your heart and God will provide the words to speak. Ask Him for guidance in your proclamation.

As you reflect on your holiday celebration and look ahead to the New Year, you can also look forward to growing closer to Him on your journey.

What steps is He calling you to take this year to be closer?

Have you asked?

Have you listened?

I challenge you to make more time for Him this year and watch as He reveals so much more to you and through you. Be ready to Live Scripture Strong.
