Can You Memorize This?

Memory Verse

Deuteronomy 5:16 Honor your father and mother, just as the Lord your God has commanded you. Then you will live a long time in the land He is giving you. And things will go well with you there.

This week we’d like to encourage you to MEMORIZE the verse and hide it deep in your heart. That is what God’s word says for us to do.

This means spending a few minutes each day reading the verse out loud and then repeating it over and over until you have it memorized. By the third day, you should be able to say most of the verse without even looking!

Deuteronomy 5:16 Honor your father and mother, just as the Lord your God has commanded you. Then you will live a long time in the land He is giving you. And things will go well with you there.

Every morning I have my Coffee with God. I drink from my Coffee with God Ceramic Mug, I read my devotional, write in my prayer journal, and spend time with my Lord and Savior.

How you treat your mother and father really does matter to God. He commands us to honor our parents and promises us that our lives will go well if we do. The million-dollar question is: How can we make sure we are following His Commandment?

Love your mother and father unconditionally. Although they are right 99% of the time (at least mine were *smile*), remember that they are human. They will make mistakes. Love them anyway.

Perhaps you did not grow up in a home where your mother and/or father were nurturing and kind. You can fulfill God’s Commandment by forgiving your mother and/or father and praying for them. Live Scripture Strong and share your journey with us on Facebook & Instagram!
