“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” – Matthew 6:33
What does seeking His kingdom mean? Seeking is more than just finding, it is trying to look for something intently. Seeking His Kingdom means to seek God’s rule, that God would rule even on earth. …and His righteousness means we must seek His laws, His statutes, as found in the Bible, God’s Word. We shouldn’t conform to man’s righteousness, man’s cultural norms, the accepted things, because sometimes our norms are corrupt and morally wrong in God’s sight.
All these things will be added unto you refers to the blessings that we will receive if we follow God (seek His Kingdom). Even if following the kingdom of God can cause disagreements, persecution, etc., we should still persist because eventually, God will reward us for our faithfulness, whether it is immediate or not.
